Setting Up Your First-Time Customer Offer (FTCO)
How to create a compelling first-time offer that converts profile views into phone calls.
The First-Time Customer Offer (FTCO) is one of the most effective tools on LynkServ. It gives homeowners a specific reason to choose you over a competitor with a similar profile.
What the FTCO Does
When your FTCO is active, a badge appears on your listing card in search results and on your full profile page. Homeowners browsing results can immediately see that you're offering something special to new customers. This creates differentiation without you having to say a word.
Setting It Up
From your provider dashboard, navigate to "First-Time Offer." You'll choose an offer type (Free Estimate, Free Consultation, Discount, Free First Service, or Other), enter the value (such as "15% off" or "$25 off"), write a short description, and optionally set an expiry date.
What Makes a Good Offer
Effective offers are specific and low-friction. "Free estimate on any job" works well for trades. "Free first cleaning estimate" works for cleaning services. "Free 30-minute consultation" works for legal and medical. Avoid vague offers like "call for pricing" or "best rates in town" — those don't give homeowners a concrete reason to act.
If you're not sure where to start, a free estimate or free consultation is usually a safe choice. These offers don't cost you money — they just get you in front of the customer.
Keeping It Current
You can update, pause, or change your FTCO at any time from the dashboard. If you run a seasonal promotion, you can set it up with an expiry date and it will automatically deactivate. Many providers rotate their offers — free service in winter becomes a discount during their slow season, for example.
